Telluride

Telluride, a Colorado city of some 2,600 people in the southwestern part of the state, is a must-visit in the West. The tiny town is an arts haven, hosting the annual Telluride Film Festival and the Telluride Jazz Festival – two staples of the region.

The city’s film festival will host its 50th edition in 2023, making it a perfect time to visit. The festival has had the American premiere of films such as David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, Ang Lee’s Brokeback Mountain, Clint Eastwood’s Sully and Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird.

The Jazz Festival, to be held Aug. 11-13 in 2023, is in its 45th year. The artist lineup will be announced in the spring. Past performers include Muddy Waters, Dizzy Gillespie, Mavis Staples, Etta James, Herbie Hancock, Macy Gray and many more.

Due to these cultural events and its gorgeous location, Telluride has become internationally famous and is an all-season resort town with a specific emphasis on the Telluride Ski Resort come winter. Golf is another favorite pastime among the city’s visitors.
